SITUATION AND ACCESS
Settled deep heart of the Burgundy , Center and Auvergne areas, Nevers is the major town of the Nièvre department. Ideally located only two hours from Paris by A77 highway.
Along the Nièvre and the Loire rivers, the town spreads herself on the right bank of Loire river.
We are on the railwayroad between Paris-Clermont-Ferrand, (it used to be the old Paris-Mediterranean way) by the Massif Central (Marvejols, Nîmes), and Dijon
Whether you are looking for
spirituality or are just an ordinary
tourist, take time to appreciate
the silence of the Espace
Bernadette, where the Saint is
buried. This is in the heart of the
religious community and, in the
chapel, you can ommune with
Bernadette.
The confluence of the Loire and the Allier provides
many opportunities for discovering,
both the fauna and flora.
The Bec d’Allier was classified as a Panda Site
by the WWF in 2004.
By following the Loire’s Canal Latéral you
will come across the Guétin canalbridge.
Crossing the Allier, this 343 metrelong
masonry bridge, built between
1830 and 1838, allows the canal to
flow on towards Digoin or Briare.
